Taishan Nuclear held press conference to introduce 2014 operation and construction information

    On the morning of February 4, Taishan Nuclear held an annual press conference, and communicated with media on the issues of public concern. The event was attended by the journalists from some 10 media agencies such as Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, Economic Daily，Guangming Daily, Southern Daily, Southern Metropolis Daily, Guangzhou Daily, Yangcheng Evening, Taishan TV etc.

    At the meeting, Mr. Kong Yuan, the spokesman of Taishan Nuclear briefed the media of the engineering construction, production preparations, safe production, and nuclear popular science etc. In 2014, Taishan Phase I project progressed smoothly with safety, quality and schedule well controlled, and all the important milestones of the whole year were completed on schedule. At present, the installation of Unit 1 of Taishan Nuclear has peaked with commissioning activities proceeded in an all-round way. Welding of the main piping of Unit 2 has started. The two sides also exchanged around project construction progress, the introduction, digestion and absorption of EPR technology and nuclear popular science.

    In order to enhance the understanding of Taishan Nuclear and nuclear power safety performance, the journalists were arranged to watch the promotional videos and visited nuclear science exhibition hall and full scope simulator after the press conference.
