Fangchenggang Phase-II Adopted HL1000-1

    In August 2014, HL1000-1’s passing the national review jointly organized by National Energy Administration (NEA) and National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) was a significant technical support for the “going out” of China’s nuclear power. On December 9, 2014, NEA approved Fangchenggang Phase-II NPPs to adopt HL1000-1 technology, and preparatory work of the project has been pushed forward orderly at present. In addition, CGN has signed agreements on key equipment R&D of HL1000-1 with 30 enterprises.

    In 2014, CGN actively promoted the strategy implementation of nuclear power “going out”, tightly seized strategic opportunities in the international nuclear power market recovery, securely lay out international nuclear power market, and made great progress on nuclear power projects in UK and Romania. On one hand, the British government approved Chinese enterprises led by CGN to participate in the development and construction of proposed nuclear power project. On the other hand, Romania has announced that CGN was selected to be the investor of Cernavoda Project and the two sides were making efforts to push the project forward. CGN’s international nuclear power development has stepped into a new stage on technology and project implementation.

    Shu Rui, deputy executive secretary of CGN’s science and technology commission, said that CGN always insists on technological innovation with the investment on technological research and development reached 2.04 billion yuan in 2014, an increase of 20% over the previous year. According to statistics, in the first four years of 12th Five-Year Plan, CGN’s total investment on technological research and development has been reached 6.35 billion yuan.
