Energy China Chairman Meets Pakistani PM Via Video Link

On February 5, Mr. Song Hailiang, Chairman of EnergyChina had an online meeting with Imaran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan. The meeting revolved around the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), green transformation of the energy structure and promoting livelihood projects, etc. Both sides exchanged in-depth views and reached a broad consensus.

Imaran Khan mentioned that Energy China is an important cooperative partner for Pakistan, which has undertaken many important projects such as the SK Hydropower Station and the Azad Pattan Hydropower Project, and contributes to the local sustainable development. He said that Pakistan welcomes Energy China to further expand investment and construction in the local critical fields and facilitate more practical collaborations. The government will fully support Energy China’s development in Pakistan.

Mr. Song Hailiang mentioned that Energy China will make full use of its advantages of the whole industrial chain, get more involved in Pakistan’s economic development, and build more high-quality projects. Meanwhile, Energy China will increase the investment in the field of low-carbon green energy, hydroelectricity, power grid, transportation, and water resources, and carry out cooperation in various forms with the local government and enterprises, using Energy China’s knowledge and strength to better develop the bilateral relationship between China and Pakistan.
