China Energy, Wuhan University Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

China Energy and Wuhan University signed an agreement on strategic cooperation via video link on April 15. Wang Xiangxi, chairman of China Energy, and Han Jin, secretary of the Party committee of Wuhan University, delivered speeches at the signing ceremony.

According to the agreement, the two sides will conduct coordinated innovation in production, education and research and carry out all-round strategic cooperation under the principle of “equal consultation, advantage complementation, resource sharing, and real benefits”. They will give full play to their complementary advantages and deepen research cooperation in fields such as intelligent mining, hydropower exploration, and new energy system, so as to facilitate basic research, technology development, and research result utilization and industrialization and promote in-depth integration of education, talent, technology, capital, and industry.

Wang Xiangxi said that as one of the first groups of Chinese universities included in the "double world-class project", Wuhan University enjoys a long history and cultural profundity, and has made remarkable contribution to China’s major engineering technology innovation. In recent years, China Energy and Wuhan University have collaborated to achieve a series of results in hydropower, coal-fired power, and strategic research and personnel training. He expressed hope that the two sides, with the signing of this agreement as a new starting point, will continue deepening cooperation on technological innovation, research platform building, and personnel cultivation, and build a bridge of collaboration and set a good example for university-enterprise cooperation through pragmatic collaboration.

In his speech, Han Jin said that China Energy, an energy giant in China, is “the ballast for energy supply and the pioneer in energy revolution” of the country, and Wuhan University is among the top Chinese universities and a cradle of talent, wisdom and technological innovation. He hopes that both sides will complement their advantages to, based on previous close cooperation and taking the signing of this agreement as an opportunity, deepen cooperation in fields like scientific research, platform building, and human resources cultivation, so as to write a new chapter for mutually beneficial, high-quality development.
