First Public-Function Port of China Energy’s Fujian Company Opens

On April 15, cargo ship “New Dongguan No.8”, loaded with 70,000 tons of coal, berthed at  Berth 1-2 in the Kemen operation section of Luoyuanwan Port Area of Fuzhou Port. This is the first ship that the port of Fujian Lianjiang Company of China Energy received after its start of operation, marking the official implementation of the first project for the framework agreement on industrial development cooperation between China Energy and Fujian Provincial People’s Government.

Located in the Kemen operation area, Lianjiang County, Fujian Province, the natural deep-water port enjoys exceptional advantages, capable of meeting the requirements of all-weather berthing for 300,000-ton bulk carriers while accommodating 400,000-ton bulk carriers at the same time. With an annual designed capacity of 26.68 million tons, it is China Energy’s only port with public functions in Fujian Province and serves as a strategic reserve for deep-water shoreline resources.

In addition, the company pursues high-levels, high-standard planning, design, construction and operation as it advances first-class project that integrates port, energy storage, and electricity. For the Luoyuanwan project, the company has simultaneously built two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power generating units and a 1-million-ton coal reserve base. Unit 1 was officially put into operation on December 13, 2021, and Unit 2 is expected to finish 168-hour full-load trial operation at the end of April this year, which will help build a more diversified and stable coal-based energy supply system in Fujian’s coastal area that radiates to China’s hinterland.
