China’s first heavy-haul railway dynamic detecting system was put into use on the Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway (Shuohuang Railway) under China Energy on April 25. It can achieve precise repair and removal of risks on tracks through “determining repair upon precise detection.”
A comprehensive detecting train equipped with the heavy-haul railway dynamic detecting system in operation.
In recent years, the Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway has seen its transportation volume increasing year on year, and the number of 20,000-ton heavy-haul trains running along the route has kept rising. The higher operating frequency of trains increased pressure on tracks, resulting in higher possibilities of damage and non-smoothness of rail tracks. Over time, such “minor damages” may deteriorate structural parts and tracks of the entire railway, shorten its life span, and endanger trains operating on it. The train dynamic detecting system can conduct quantitative and qualitative assessment on the damages of the tracks through precise detection and analysis, so as to identify risks in a timely manner and draw up track repair plans based on data. Through quick detection and identification of damages on the surface of tracks, it can achieve high-efficiency collaboration with track-polishing and track-grinding cars. The system can save 150 laborers for track checking each day.
