Dialogue on“Branding Value for the Energy Enterprises and Industry " was Held

May 10, 2022 /CEC/ - To welcome the sixth“China Brand Day”on 10th May, Liu Yongdong, the Deputy Secretary-General of China Electricity Council (CEC), attended and hosted the Dialogue organized by the China Energy Research Association (CERA) on May 9 with the theme of "Branding Value for the Energy Enterprises and Industry". Representatives attending the Dialogue also included Wang Yong, the Chairman of Brand Alliance (Beijing) Consulting Co., Ltd. and the Initiator & Secretary General of China Brand Festival, and Li Guowei, the Founder and President of Visionwe Management Consulting Company. The panelists discussed the topics such as the meaning of the corporate branding, how to build a corporate brand, and the value of the corporate branding to the development of the energy industry.


In his speech at the Event, Liu Yongdong pointed out that from the perspective of the enterprises, the corporate branding was the understanding and judgment of the enterprise on its own positioning. And from the perspective of consumers, the corporate branding represented the trust and reliance of the consumers on the corporate services or products. The "14th Five-Year Plan" period was a critical timeslot of energy transformation, and it is was also a very important period for the transformation and development of the energy enterprises. However, there are only a small number of internationally renowned brands of the energy enterprises in China with weak international influence. The branding of the energy enterprises should be in line with nation’s "Dual-Carbon" goal and "Belt and Road" initiative strategies. 


The three panelists believed that brand building should not simply be regarded as the consumption or the investment of the energy enterprises. A good brand image would not only increase the market share of the energy enterprise, but also enhance the ability of them to withstand the market risks. The Dialogue also include the case studies of various energy enterprises such as China Petrochemical Corporation, State Grid Corporation of China, China Energy Investment Group, Dongfang Electric Corporation, China General Nuclear Power Corporation, HangZhou Oxygen Plant Group, LONGi Green Energy Technology, Mingyang Smart Energy and Contemporary Amperex Technology.


As the professional organization of the power industry in China, CEC holds the secretariat of China's electric power brand cluster. It aimed to build an exchange and cooperation platform for the power industry brand building and to promote the power enterprises to build their own brands. CEC also formulated relevant systems and standards for the brand building in the power industry.
