Data of the Electricity Transactions in China Power Market (Jan-Apr, 2022)

From January to April, all Power Exchange Centers across the nation completed a total of 1,630.09TWh of the market traded electricity transactions, an increase of 53.7% year-on-year, accounting for 60.8% of the total electricity consumption of the whole society, an increase of 19.4 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, the total amount of the medium- and long-term direct traded electricity transactions reached 1,333.08TWh, an increase of 54.4% year-on-year. 

In April, all the nation's Power Exchange Centers completed 379.58TWh market traded electricity transactions, an increase of 28.1% year-on-year. Among them, the total amount of the medium- and long-term direct traded electricity transactions was 310.21TWh, an increase of 26.8% year-on-year.

1. Electricity Transactions of Power Exchange Centers

From January to April, all Power Exchange Centers across the nation completed a total of 1,630.09TWh of market traded electricity transactions, an increase of 53.7% year-on-year, accounting for 60.8% of the total electricity consumption of the whole society, an increase of 19.4 percentage points year-on-year. The total amount of market traded electricity transactions within the individual province was 1,335.03TWh, of which 1,295.96 TWh was direct traded (including 3.81TWh for green electricity transactions and 271.6TWh for power grid agency), 36.55TWh for power generation rights trading, and 2.52TWh for other transactions. The total amount of the electricity transactions traded inter-provinces was 295.06TWh, of which 37.12TWh was direct traded inter-provinces, 256.03TWh was delivered cross-provinces, and 1.91TWh was in power generation rights trading.

In April, all the Power Exchange Centers across the nation completed 379.58TWh market traded electricity transactions, an increase of 28.1% year-on-year. The total amount of the electricity traded within the individual province was 309.21TWh, of which 299.58TWh was direct traded (including 1.51TWh for green electricity transactions and 44.84TWh for power grid agency), 8.16TWh was for power generation rights trading and 1.48TWh was for other transactions. The total amount of the market traded electricity transactions inter-provinces was 70.37TWh, of which 10.64 TWh was direct traded inter-provinces, 58.88TWh was delivered cross-provinces, and 0.84TWh was traded in power generation rights.

From January to April, the Power Exchange Centers in the service area of State Grid Cooperation of China (SGCC) completed a total of 1,289.45TWh market traded electricity transactions, an increase of 61.4% year-on-year, accounting for 60.2% of the total electricity consumption of the whole society in the region, of which the Beijing Power Exchange Center completed 268.64TWh inter-provincial electricity transactions, an increase of 52.4%. All the Power Exchange Centers in the service area of China Southern Power Grid completed 256.08TWh market traded electricity transactions, an increase of 27.5% year-on-year, accounting for 59.2% of the total electricity consumption of the whole society in the region, of which Guangzhou Power Exchange Center completed 19.09TWh inter-provincial electricity transactions, an increase of 93.8%. The Inner Mongolia Power Exchange Center completed a total of 84.55TWh market traded electricity transactions, an increase of 39.5% year-on-year, accounting for 79.3% of the total electricity consumption in the region.

2. Medium- and Long-Term Direct Traded Electricity Transactions

From January to April, the total amount of the medium- and long-term direct traded electricity transactions nationwide was 1,333.08TWh, an increase of 54.4% year-on-year. Among them, the direct traded electricity transactions (including green power and power grid agency) within the individual province was 1,295.96TWh, and the total amount of the direct traded electricity transactions inter-province (received) was 37.11TWh.

In April, the total amount of the medium- and long-term direct traded electricity transactions nationwide was 310.21TWh, an increase of 26.8% year-on-year. Among them, the total amount of direct traded electricity transactions (including green power and power grid agency) within the individual province was 299.58TWh, and the total amount of the direct traded electricity transactions inter-province (received) was 10.63TWh.

From January to April, the total amount of the medium- and long-term direct traded electricity transactions in the service area of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) was 1,033.61TWh, an increase of 64% year-on-year. The total amount of the medium- and long-term direct traded electricity transactions in the service area of the China Southern Power Grid was 228.97TWh, an increase of 26.7% year-on-year. The total amount of the medium- and long-term electricity transactions in the service area of West Inner Mongolia Power Grid was 70.5TWh, an increase of 34.8% year-on-year.
