Fortune magazine announced the Fortune Global 500 list for 2022 on August 3, and China Energy Investment Corporation was ranked at 85th position with a revenue of US$107.09 billion, jumping 16 places from last year and entering the world’s top 100 for the first time, which marked a historic breakthrough.
Data released by Fortune magazine show that among the 21 Chinese energy companies which made the Fortune 500 list for 2022, China Energy ranked 6th in revenue, 5th in profit (US$5.45 billion), 2nd in net interest margin (5.1%) and 3rd in return on assets (7.5%).
China Energy has built a full industrial chain of coal, power, transportation and chemicals, with business covering 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China as well as more than 10 countries and regions. The world’s largest company in coal mining, thermal power, wind power and coal-to-oil conversion has been awarded Grade A in the business performance assessment of central enterprises for four consecutive years, Grade A in the overall assessment for the 2019-2021 term, and the title of an enterprise with outstanding contribution to science and technology innovation for the 2019-2021 term.
