Longyuan Power Wins ‘Top 10 Solutions’ Title at Digital China Summit

On July 24, the project on the research and application of wind power generating unit performance and malfunction diagnosis and precaution technology, launched by Longyuan Power Technology and Engineering Co., Ltd. under China Energy, was listed among the “Top 10 Solutions” at the 5th Digital China Summit, after review and examination by the event’s organizing committee.

Following the guideline of “driving national development with technological innovation”, the project aims to realize the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals by merging big data and AI technologies. Through combining the operating mechanisms of wind turbines with new technologies such as machine learning and big data, it further explores the value of data and develops a wind turbine performance and malfunction diagnosis and precaution model, which enables the company to rank first in China’s new energy industry and lead the world in terms of data collection. The diagnosis and precaution model it independently developed can achieve automatic, real-time online analysis of all wind turbines, thus increasing their reliability and economic returns.

The project is used to monitor power generation performances of wind farms, and urge wind turbine suppliers to upgrade their products, so as to realize a shift from passive emergency repair to precautious maintenance of wind turbines. Since 2018, the project has continuously improved and upgraded its research results in a closed-loop manner, which have been widely applied in 110 kinds of wind turbines offered by 23 manufacturers to 215 wind farms. To date, the company has independently developed 86 diagnosis and precaution models to monitor the healthy conditions of 13,000 wind turbines. As a result, the equipment malfunction rate has been reduced by 40%, and 82% of wind turbines have realized non-malfunction operations for 100 days. The performance and reliability of equipment have been both enhanced.
