Dadu River Hydropower Company Wins National Special Prize for Plant Engineering and Technological Innovation

On July 26, the 5th National Plant Engineering and Technology Innovation Conference, hosted by China Association of Plant Engineering, released a list of achievements in technological innovation. The research project “Intelligent Management of Geological Disasters in Large River Basins and Reservoirs” initiated by Dadu River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. under China Energy stood out of more than 1,700 candidates to win the National Special Prize for Plant Engineering and Technological Innovation.

The prize-winning project aims at meeting the needs of geological disaster and risk control in the Dadu River Valley. Relying on its intelligent development strategy, the company used technologies such as cloud computing, big data, AI, GIS, sky-earth-water detection, and 3D visualization to form a comprehensive geological disaster detecting system and build China’s first large river valley geological disaster forecast and precaution platform. It has also established technical support platforms and approaches covering early identification, risk sequencing, monitoring, precaution, and emergency commanding related to geological disasters, and achieved full-process intelligent management ranging from risk identification to data collection and management, risk assessment, monitoring and precaution, and integrated control. It helps address challenges that hinder geological disaster detection, precaution, and joint response.
