Hainan Branch’s 100 MW Centralized PV Project in Wanning Approved

On July 22, China Energy Hainan Branch’s agri-PV project in Wanning was approved and filed by the Hainan Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

Located in Liji Town, Wanning City, Hainan Province, the project has an investment of about 550 million yuan and a designed installed capacity of 100 MW. It covers an area of 80 hectares and combines agricultural planting and photovoltaic power generation. The electricity it produces will be fully fed into the grid. After completion, the project is expected to provide 130 million kWh of green electricity every year. Compared with coal-fired power plants with same capacity, it can annually save 38,900 tons of standard coal and consequently reduce greenhouse gas emissions including 127,000 tons of carbon dioxide, 3,800 tons of sulfur dioxide, and 1,900 tons of nitrogen oxides.
