The 2022 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum kicked off on September 2 in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, which released the list of 2022 Top 500 Global Renewable Energy Companies. China Longyuan Power Group, affiliated to China Energy, was named for the 10th consecutive year.

In 2021, Longyuan Power achieved an annual revenue of 37.21 billion yuan, up 29.16 percent year-on-year, and a net profit attributable to shareholders of 6.4 billion yuan, up 28.67 percent year-on-year, the best level in its history.
Longyuan Power implements varying strategies specific for different provinces in an effort to enhance development of renewable energy. As of December 31, 2021, the company had an installed capacity of 26,699 MW, including 23,668 MW of wind power, which ensures its position as the world’s largest wind power operator, 1,875 MW of thermal power capacity and 1,156 MW of other renewable energy capacity.

To implement the national carbon emissions reduction policy and seek new profit growth points, the company has played an active role in carbon emission trading market. In 2021, its Carbon Asset Company completed the first transaction of carbon emission trading allowance in the national carbon market. Its branch in South Africa completed the first deal of 200,000 tons of carbon emissions for an overseas project of China Energy, which was the first international voluntary emission reduction transaction for a large renewable energy project in South Africa.
