China Energy Wind Power Operation Technology R&D Center Inaugurated in Xi’an

China Energy Wind Power Operation Technology R&D (Experiment) Center, established by China Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd. under China Energy, was officially inaugurated in Xi’an on August 12. The Department of Science and Technology of the National Energy Administration (NEA) sent a congratulatory letter to the Center for its inauguration.

The Center is a national-level energy R&D center approved by the NEA as an integral part of China’s energy technology innovation system. Located in the Xi’an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone, it covers an area of 3,600 square meters and consists of several specialized research rooms respectively focusing on the studies of wind turbine operation data analysis, electric control technology, lubrication technology, cyber security, wind resources, carbon emissions and carbon capture. With an eye on the entire industrial chain of wind power operation, the Center aims to develop key technologies related to the development, construction and operation of wind farms that meet China’s natural and topographical conditions and comprehensively elevate the country’s capacities in wind farm design, construction and operation. It is China’s first platform for wind power technology R&D, innovation and experiment.

In recent years, Longyuan Power has undertaken more than 10 key national research projects, carried out 44 sci-tech projects under China Energy, and launched 107 R&D projects on its own. Besides, it has obtained 493 patents, won 130 industrial prizes (including 19 at the provincial/ministerial level), and organized or participated in the compilation of 72 national and industrial standards.
