On June 27, the centralized desulfurization and oxidation technology developed by the Changzhou Company of China Energy Jiangsu Branch was successfully applied in the gypsum slurry treatment in desulfurization absorption towers, which achieved remarkable results. It can reduce the water content of gypsum slurry to less than 10% and the chlorine ion content to about 20%, both reaching the industry-leading level.
The No.1 and No.2 desulfurization absorption towers in the Changzhou Company.
The technology was independently developed by the Changzhou Company. Through centralized distribution of oxidation ventilation systems in each absorption tower, it forms a general oxidation ventilation network, which connects to primary- and secondary-level oxidation systems in absorption towers. Electric valves are used to control the air intake volume to ensure stable wind supply for oxidation. In addition, the absorption towers have been equipped with online measuring devices to monitor the calcium sulfite content in gypsum slurry, so as to ensure the continuity of sulfur dioxide absorption, increase the efficiency of desulfurization, and improve the quality of plaster (a by-product in the process of desulfurization).
The application of this technology enables the company to save land area for desulfurization equipment by 30% while preventing high-temperature smoke and fume from entering the absorption towers and reacting with gypsum slurry to produce calcium sulfite, so as to enhance the stability of gypsum slurry in absorption towers and guarantee the safe, stable operation of equipment.
