UAE’s Umm Al Quwain 150 MIGD IWP puts into operation

Here comes another milestone! The world’s second largest membrane process desalinator project, constructed by CEEC was granted the COD by the local authority.

The UAE’s Umm Al Quwain 150 MIGD IWP (Independent Water Project) was granted the Certificate of Designation by the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) of UAE on Aug 11 local time, and the project was already operational on Aug 5.

The mega plant has three production lines which are able to produce 682,000 cubic meters of fresh water per day. Along with the five ancillary 135,000-cubic-meter water storage tanks, the whole project is slated to supply clean domestic water for over a million local residents.
