CHN Energy Won 2022 Golden Bull Award for Social Responsibility

From November 23 to 24, the winners of the 2022 Golden Bull Awards for Social Responsibility and the ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) Golden Bull Awards, which was initiated by the China Social Responsibility 100 Forum to promote the development of social responsibilities in China, were unveiled. CHN Energy was granted the Award for Responsibility Management for its outstanding performances in social responsibility management and ESG. Besides, 11 subsidiaries of CHN Energy, including China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., China Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd., and Shenhua Shendong Coal Group Co., Ltd., won specific awards for their remarkable performances in fulfilling their economic, social and environmental responsibilities.

Shenhua Shendong Coal Group Co., Ltd. and Guoshen Company, which refers to the CHN Energy Guoyuan Power Co., Ltd. and Shenhua Shendong Power Co., Ltd. were granted the Award for Responsibility in Supply for their outstanding performances in guaranteeing energy production and supply.  Shenhua Zhunge’er Energy Group Co., Ltd., Shenhua Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd. and Shenhua Huanghua Port Co., Ltd. were granted the Award for Environmental Protection for their remarkable achievements in green development. Shenhua Shuohuang Railway Co., Ltd. were granted the Award for Responsibility in Communication for its effective communication with stakeholders. The National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon Energy (NICE) was granted the Award for Environmental Protection for its innovative ideas and design plans in the eco-friendly area. Dadu River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. and China Shenhua Coal-to-liquid and Chemical Co., Ltd. were granted the Rookie Award for Responsibility for their outstanding performances in earthquake relief and scientific and technological innovation. China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd. was granted the ESG Golden Bull Award for Pioneer Enterprise for its remarkable achievements in ESG, and China Longyuan Power Group Co., Ltd.’s South Africa project was granted the Award for Overseas Responsibility Fulfillment for its outstanding performance in fulling social responsibilities overseas.

In recent years, CHN Energy has taken the lead in energy supply guarantee, green development, scientific and technological innovation, and corporate social responsibilities (CSR). Following the principle of “ensuring the national energy supply, taking responsibilities as motivations”, CHN Energy has made use of its advantage in coal-electricity-chemical-transportation integrated operation to promote green transformation and development, and set a good example in terms of CSR governance, practice, achievements and communication for the state-owned enterprise (SOE) reform that upholds the two principles of “consistently strengthening Party leadership over enterprises and sticking to modern enterprise systems”.
