CHN Energy Zhejiang Branch’s Installed Capacity of Power Projects on Grid Exceeded 10 Million KW

On December 29, 2022, the No.5 generation unit of Ninghai Power Plant under the Zhejiang branch of CHN Energy was approved by the Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission to expand its capacity by 55,000 KW. That meant the total installed capacity of Zhejiang Branch’s power projects under transmission or connected to the grid reached 10,162,300 KW, surpassing the 10 million KW milestone.

The No.5 generation unit at Ninghai Power Plant

Since its reorganization, the Zhejiang branch has developed and constructed a batch of large-scale centralized photovoltaic projects in Zhejiang Province and beyond, including the project in Kaihua County, Quzhou City and the project in Lingao County, Hainan Province. In addition, it has completed a demonstration photovoltaic power station that integrates ground facilities, factory workshops and carports and features agriculture-photovoltaic and fishery-photovoltaic complementarity in Ninghai. To date, the company has put into operation 116 new energy photovoltaic power stations. It also accelerates the “three multimodal transformations” and capacity expansion of its existing coal-fired power plants. So far, it has completed the transformation of three 1GW generation units and one subcritical generation unit for capacity expansion and efficiency improvement, laying the groundwork for increasing its total installed capacity to more than 10 million KW. At present, the 2×660MW ultra-supercritical secondary reheating project of Zhoushan Power Plant (Phase-III) is under construction. Efforts are also made to accelerate the constructions of major projects such as the 2×1000MW energy conservation and emissions reduction project of Beilun Power Plant (Phase-I), the Meixi H-class combustion engine project, the Meiyu integrated energy storage power station, and the Wencheng pumped storage power station. The company strives to build demonstration projects for transforming enterprises with high energy consumption, high pollution and low development level, thus contributing lasting strength to the high-quality development of itself and Zhejiang Province and building common prosperity demonstration zones.
