GD Power Development Co., Ltd.’s Xiangshan 504MW Offshore Wind Farm Began Construction

On December 30, 2022, the Xiangshan No.1 wind farm (Phase-II) launched by Zhoushan Wind Power Plant under GD Power Development Co., Ltd. (“GD Power” for short), a subsidiary of CHN Energy, was approved, marking that it officially began construction.

It is the third offshore wind power project developed by GD Power. Located in the waters off the southeast shore of Shipu Town, Xiangshan County in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, the project has a planned installed capacity of 504MW and is listed as a key offshore wind power project of Zhejiang. When completed, it is estimated to transmit more than 1.64 billion kWh of clean electricity to the power grid, save 496,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 1.37 million tons each year. The project is crucial for boosting the high-quality development of Xiangshan’s local economy.
