China Datang Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Harbin Electric Corporation

China Datang Corporation Ltd. (China Datang) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Harbin Electric Corporation (HE) in Harbin on Aug 11.

Zou Lei, chairman of China Datang, Cao Zhi'an, chairman of HE, and Wu Weizhang, president of HE attended the signing ceremony and exchanged views on deepening cooperation between the two sides to better contribute to China's goal of peaking its carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

Peng Yong, vice president of China Datang, and HE's member of the board of directors Zhang Yingjian, vice presidents Lyu Zhiqiang and Shen Tong, as well as chief accountant Du Xingkai, also attended the signing ceremony.

Zou thanked HE for long-term support and said that China Datang has made great efforts to fulfill its social and economic responsibilities by guaranteeing stable supply of energy, optimizing energy mix and industrial structure, and striving to be a world-class energy supplier featuring green and low-carbon development, energy diversification, efficient coordination, and digital and smart technologies-empowered operations.

With profound historical heritage and extraordinary technological strength, HE has been leading the way in power generation equipment manufacturing in China and made outstanding contributions to the country's social and economic development, Zou noted.

China Datang and HE have maintained a sound cooperative relationship and enjoyed fruitful cooperation in such fields as thermal power, hydropower, and gas power. The strategic cooperation agreement is expected to help the two sides strengthen communication and expand and deepen their cooperation, so that they can contribute to the endeavor to peak carbon dioxide emissions and achieve carbon neutrality, the building of a new-type power system, and the high-quality development of the energy sector, Zou said.

Cao expressed his gratitude to Datang for long-standing support and pointed out that the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement would further enhance friendship and open a new chapter of cooperation between China Datang and HE. HE is intensifying efforts to be a leading equipment manufacturer, system integrator and O&M service provider, provide more reliable equipment, more advanced technology and better services, and create more value for China Datang and make greater contributions to society, he said.
