Shendong Coal Included in National List of Mine Safety Research Projects

On February 10, the research project “Buertai Coal Mine Dynamic Disaster Occurrence Mechanism & Prevention and Control Technology” was included in the list of mine safety research projects (first batch) of the National Mine Safety Administration of China.

Relying on the platform of the Shendong Key Laboratory for Rock Burst Research and based on the Buertai coal mine, the project aims to serve the Shendong mine area, play an exemplary role in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia, and lead technological progress in rock burst disaster control for ultra-large coal bases. It focuses on technologies on dynamic disaster multi-factor monitoring and identification in coal mines, and exploring the static load and dynamic load evolution laws under the impact of multiple factors. The project also reveals the mechanism of disaster occurrence caused by multi-factor coupling, so as to offer strong support for production safety in coal mines and provide reference and guidance for subsequent dynastic disaster prevention and control in the Ordos coal field and other coal mines.

The findings of the research project are expected to provide targeted guidance for dynamic pressure prevention and control in the Buertai coal mine, offer new ideas for targeted control of dynamic disasters in coal mines, reduce the occurrence of laneway deformation and maintenance costs, and decrease problems caused by dynamic disasters such as causalities and equipment damage. Based on research and practice, it will future enhance the mine area’s capacity in dynamic disaster prevention and control, thus playing an exemplary role in the Shendong mine area and other coal mines that have entered the stage of deep exploration and may face dynamic pressure problems such as the Ordos coal field.
